Work-life balance in hectic Singapore

As a working middle income family with kids living in a cosmopolitan city such as Singapore, you are faced with daily challenges such as sending your kids to schools on time, commuting to work in crowded public transport, rushing for a quick bite among the lunch crowd, work challenges faced in the workplace, getting knock off on time to pick up the kids, and finally, rushing home to get dinner ready.

Yes, this is the lifestyle of the average working-class living in Singapore. With this much of activities in a full day, it really kind of drains your energy by the time you are settled down on the bed. Where’s the work-life balance we are talking here?

Here, we have listed some of the concerns and factors affecting the work-life balance that everyone looks forward to;

  1. Demanding workload
  2. Not understanding direct supervisors at work
  3. Childcare — sending kids to and from childcare centres
  4. To have home-cooked food with family members
  5. Leisure trips — overseas (few times in a year)
  6. Spending quality time with kids (before bed sessions & weekend outings)
  7. Spending quality time with parents & spouse (luncheons, dinner)
  8. Having nutritious food and staple diet catered…
